Description: 

We are seeking a highly structured, analytical, and business-oriented Product Governance Senior Specialist to

strengthen governance discipline across the Product organization. The Product Governance Senior Specialist

champions strong product governance practices across the organization, ensuring products are built, launched,

and managed in alignment with regulatory requirements, risk standards, and strategic priorities.

This role is critical in ensuring products are built, launched, and managed in accordance with internal

frameworks, regulatory expectations, and risk standards - without slowing innovation. The ideal candidate

combines governance & risk expertise, project/program management capability, and strong stakeholder

influence. They are data-driven, process-oriented, and able to bring clarity and structure in a fast-moving

fintech environment.

 

The role acts as the governance bridge between Product, Risk & Compliance, Engineering, Business Units,

other control teams and key units - driving structured decision-making, risk visibility, and disciplined Product

execution.

 

NATURE OF WORK

The Product Governance Senior Specialist acts as the bridge between Product, Control Units and key

stakeholders as enabler and guardrail of product excellence. The primary goal is to ensure disciplined execution

of the product, clear accountability, structured risk management, and strong governance reporting.

The role focuses on governance health, execution oversight, process standardization, and cross-functional

alignment.

Governance & Risk Management

• Drive adherence to Product Governance frameworks (PDLC).

• Ensure required documentation, approvals, and control checkpoints are completed prior to launch.

• Identify governance gaps and recommend control enhancements.

• Support audit readiness and regulatory engagements.

• Monitor product risk posture and escalate material issues appropriately.

Process & Framework Design

• Design and continuously improve governance templates, workflows, and minimum standards.

• Standardize product documentation and approval processes.

• Embed governance checkpoints within product release and cadences.• Continuously optimize governance processes for efficiency and clarity.

Project & Program Governance

• Oversee governance milestones across product initiatives.

• Tracks key initiative within the delivery for compliance with governance standards.

• Facilitate cross-functional governance forums, stage gates, and alignment sessions.

• Ensure structured documentation of key decisions and accountability.

• Supports and institutionalize internal an d external product governance programs.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Act as governance steward to Product, Engineering, Risk & Compliance (other Control units) and

Business leaders

• Cascade governance requirements clearly and effectively.

• Align cross-functional teams on delivery, risk, and compliance requirements.

• Escalate issues with clarity and structured recommendations.

• Influence without authority in a matrixed organization.

Data & Reporting

• Develop governance dashboards and risk heatmaps standards.

• Track OKRs related to governance compliance and delivery health.

• Provide structured governance updates to leadership and management committees.

• Use data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Management, Product Governance, Risk Management,
  • Compliance, Internal Product Audit or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in Product Governance, Risk, Compliance, Audit, or Product Operations preferably
  • within fintech, banking, or regulated environments preferred
  • Strong project and program management experience
  • Exposure with product lifecycle and risk assessments frameworks
  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders and management forums
  • Certifications (preferred but not required): PMP, Agile, Risk Management, Governance-related certification
  • Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance standards
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment.
