Product Specialist (Payments)
Overview:
The Product Specialist will lead the vision and roadmap for a key area of our payment products, helping to shape how merchants around the region accept and optimize payments. In this role, you will be responsible for driving forward scalable, high-impact solutions within our acquiring platform—collaborating with partners and networks to evaluate evolving specifications and translate them into thoughtful product capabilities. Additionally, you’ll be focused on solving complex payment challenges, while aligning closely with cross-functional teams across Maya to bring innovative, merchant-centric solutions to market.
What you will do:
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Maya's checkout solutions.
- Enable end merchants to deliver the best checkout experience for their businesses.
- Own the merchant experience and adoption of Maya's Payment Acceptance products.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs through user research and feedback.
- Propose innovative and holistic solutions to address user challenges.
- Possess strong technical understanding and the ability to empathize with developers.
- Exhibit keen attention to detail in creating intuitive user experiences.
- Operate effectively with engineering teams to build and refine products.
- Lead cross-functional projects, including those with ambiguous initial definitions
- Bring expertise in payments, experimentation, and user experience design (bonus).
- Work with other stakeholder to operationalize the product with proper recon, settlement and revenue recognition
What we are looking for:
- Must have around 3-5 years of experience in Product Management for software companies within the Payments or Financial Technology space
- At least 1 year of experience in the payments domain and related fields with knowledge of acquiring and/or payment networks (eg., Visa, Mastercard or QRPH) and hands-on experience building acquiring-related products is preferred
- Able to understand APIs, system architectures, and can deliver technically complex products
- Have an entrepreneurial mindset and able to form a vision and work with the engineering teams to implement that
- Can build products not just features; we are here to build for the long run and for true scale
- Can communicate clearly and confidently, whether in aligning stakeholders, advocating for user needs, or making tough prioritization calls.
