CORE PROFILE

As a Quality Engineer on the Personalization Platform team, you’ll join a cross-functional engineering squad working on real-time, AI- and ML-powered features across mobile and backend. You will be involved in all stages of the product, from shaping its vision to building and delivering it for Maya’s users.

Maya operates at a large scale, so we need someone with a sharp eye for detail. You will test mobile apps and backend systems, automate testing, and work with software engineers to maintain high quality. This is a chance to make a real impact in a fast-moving environment.

Your work will improve features that millions of users in the Philippines and beyond rely on every day.

 

NATURE OF WORK

  • Work with product owners, designers, and developers to understand requirements and deliver projects.
  • Design and execute test plans for mobile apps and backend services and APIs.
  • Use both manual testing and automation, depending on the need.
  • Test on different mobile devices to ensure a smooth experience.
  • Find, report, and track bugs until they are fixed.
  • Analyze test results, identify trends, and suggest improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of the internal test-automation framework.
  • Stay up to date on testing best practices and new technologies.
  • Support and mentor team members in automation and quality assurance.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Strong experience in testing mobile applications on iOS and Android.
  • Expertise in API testing and automation using tools like Postman, Robot Framework, or Python Behave.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, contract testing, and schema validation.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting in Python.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and bug tracking tools like Jira.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Effective communication and teamwork in an Agile environment (we use Scrum).
  • Passion for learning and applying best practices in mobile and API testing.

  • Increased test automation coverage, reducing manual testing efforts.
  • Timely delivery of high-quality features that meet project goals.
  • Improved team efficiency, measured by defect detection rate and test execution time.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years software testing experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in mobile application testing and development.
  • At least 2 years' experience in API Testing.
  • Working knowledge of mobile operating systems such as iOS and Android.
