Senior Manager - Software Engineering

Overview:

We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the technical strategy and execution of Maya's Partner Marketing Solutions & Personalization team. You'll help build and scale the platforms that enable marketers to plan, execute, manage, and analyze co-marketing campaigns. In this role, you'll define the technical vision, lead a high-performing engineering team, and deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that create value for Maya and its partners.

What you will be doing:

• Manage a software engineering team responsible for building, designing, implementing, and maintaining front-end and back-end systems for customer-facing products and related services.

• Ensure the team delivers high-quality software and achieves challenging business and engineering goals.

• Hire, develop, retain, and manage high-performing engineers while fostering an engaged and productive team culture.

• Guide the team in making sound technical and architectural decisions and drive the adoption of engineering best practices and development processes.

• Drive sprint execution and delivery based on strategic and functional priorities.

• Represent the squad or functional area and lead feature development end-to-end in partnership with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.

• Provide regular and actionable feedback to team members, peers, and mentees.

• Contribute code when needed and actively participate in code reviews.

• Lead large-scale projects, establish and drive OKRs, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

• Own sprint planning and execution, partnering closely with Product Owners to define scope, allocate resources, and manage delivery commitments.

• Ensure sprint objectives are aligned with quarterly goals and oversee execution across the team.

• Partner with technical leads and product counterparts to help define technical and product strategy.

• Ensure data collection and storage solutions support reporting, analytics, and business insights.

• Ensure applications are delivered on time and with high quality.

• Drive multi-domain and cross-functional initiatives with end-to-end ownership from ideation through delivery and monitoring.

• Serve as the primary driver of the technology roadmap.

• Communicate technology updates and progress regularly with stakeholders.

• Partner with people managers to define career development roadmaps across the team.

• Strong systems design experience, including leading the design of major software components, systems, and features.

• Ability to consistently deliver high-impact outcomes and continuously improve team effectiveness.

• Strong strategic thinking and long-term planning skills, including anticipating scaling and organizational challenges.

• Ability to leverage design patterns, coding practices, frameworks, and tools to achieve sprint and quarterly objectives.

• Ability to influence beyond direct team boundaries, including collaborating with Product on technical feasibility and roadmap planning.

• Ability to align systems across squads through common API patterns, engineering practices, and shared standards.

What we are looking for:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience managing software engineering teams, including mentoring engineers, setting technical direction, and driving execution.

• Experience designing and developing large-scale software systems.

• Experience building web applications, native mobile applications, backend APIs, and relational database solutions.

• Hands-on programming experience with one or more of the following technologies: React, Swift, Java, Kotlin, or Python.
