Site Reliability Engineer

CORE PROFILE

This role will heavily contribute in ensuring the quality of Maya’s transaction platforms with significant focus on availability, automation, scalability, traceability, and recovery.

NATURE OF WORK

• Build deployment automation frameworks (IaaS, CICD) for Maya Philippines, Inc.
• Participate in implementing services alongside software engineers.
• Design, plan, and implement deployment strategies that minimize or eliminate downtime.
• Perform research, test, and implement tools to monitor performance, cost, uptime, and availability metrics.
• Take on L2 support role to address system and/or product issues, manage incidents and responses to ensure proper follow-up and mitigation.
• Deep dive into infrastructure and network-related issues concerning Kubernetes, Istio, and AWS.

• Expertise in troubleshooting network and infrastructure problems.
• Aptitude to learn new tools necessary to the task.
• Confidence to challenge ideas and directives where a better alternative is present.
• Persistence to clarify ambiguity before proceeding to act.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of AWS, containers, and network interactions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• 4+ years working with infrastructure (IaaS, containers, networks) setup using Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.
• At least 3 years working with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• At least 2 years of working with any automation scripting language such as JavaScript, Python, Groovy, etc.
• Hands-on experience in building continuous integration and continuous delivery using Gitlab CI.
