Overview: The AI Governance Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and advancing Maya’s AI governance framework while also leading key data-sharing initiatives. This role ensures that Maya’s AI and machine learning (ML) solutions align with ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies, while expanding the company’s data ecosystem by integrating external data sources. The AI Governance Manager will ensure that Maya’s data sharing, advanced analytics, and AI-driven insights are secure, compliant, and of high quality.

 

What you will do:

    • Lead the operationalization of Maya’s AI Governance Framework, ensuring that all AI/ML initiatives are in alignment with ethical, legal, and organizational standards.
    • Oversee the lifecycle of AI models, including their development, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing governance.
    • Conduct risk assessments, ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI solutions while mitigating risks like bias and model degradation.
    • Conduct ethical AI audits to ensure compliance with Maya’s ethical standards and relevant regulations, reporting findings to senior leadership and proposing improvements.
    • Work with legal, compliance, data governance, and technical teams to continuously refine AI and data-sharing policies to reflect evolving industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure that AI governance and data-sharing policies are well-communicated, documented, and enforced across cross-functional teams, including data science, engineering, and product teams.
    • Develop and implement a strategic data-sharing policy that governs the secure and compliant integration of external data sources, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
    • Drive initiatives to source and integrate strategic external data from industries like telecom, banking, and utilities to support advanced analytics and AI models.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enable seamless data collaboration, leveraging cutting-edge technology to ensure data security, quality, and privacy.
    • Act as an evangelist for AI governance and data-sharing best practices across the organization, developing training materials and leading awareness programs for diverse teams.

 

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Law, Ethics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (5-7+ years) in AI governance, data governance, compliance, or related fields, with a focus on ethical AI and data sharing.
  • Strong expertise in AI and ML technologies, data privacy laws, ethical AI frameworks, and relevant regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in managing AI model governance throughout the full lifecycle, from development to post-deployment monitoring.
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing and integrating external data sources into advanced analytics and AI ecosystems.
  • Experience in drafting and implementing data-sharing policies and processes.

 

Key Skills:

  • AI/ML Governance: Deep understanding of AI/ML lifecycle management, including governance tools, bias mitigation, and explainability/interpretability.
  • Data Sharing Expertise: Proven experience in sourcing, integrating, and managing external data sources, ensuring data quality and compliance.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: Expertise in risk management, with a focus on mitigating AI-related risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Strong ability to collaborate across departments, including legal, data governance, data science, and business teams, to drive AI and data-sharing initiatives.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of managing large-scale AI governance and data-sharing projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with business objectives.
  • Communication and Influence: Excellent ability to communicate complex AI and data governance concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a focus on training and awareness.
